I have and use the Harmony remote series in my own home and I recommend them to anybody who will listen to me. I have been a remote junkie for audio/video and automation for 15 years, currently there are no 12-step programs for people like myself. The litmus test for any remote is simple, program the unit to manage "Activities" test it thoroughly and hand it over to someone else without saying a word. As soon as they push an activity button and it works without having to pickup a second remote they feel like they have won the lottery. I find that my wife gives me excellent feedback after the initial "not another remote" speech.

Currently the Harmony One is my remote of choice. I don't care how much money you spend on speakers and amps and other components the bottom line is if you can't use your system easily it won't get used.

Yes, I know there are a group of people who need to change aspect ratio, sound parameters, tweak settings and so on while watching a movie or listening to music and this remote might not work for them BUT it will for their visitors, friends, wife, husband, kids, etc.



The other side of the story is that it does take some time to set up the remote through a web interface interview and you may not get it right the first time, so just do it again until it is right.



Just a piece of advice, if you buy a lower model Harmony to begin with you will always wish you had purchased the One.
