Even though they are rated down to only 70 Hz, I swear that I could hear bass of much lower frequency. Maybe like 47 - 50 Hz. Right out of the box, these sounded very nice. I didn't expect them to sound this good out of the box but they did! In my room (14 x 14 x 10) and for their small size, bass was quite unexpectedly tight and full for music. I could not believe a 4" woofer could produce this much bass. However, for movies you may need a sub. The tweeters are the best part of these C401's. Clean and smooth.



I just don't know with mere $80 you could get anything this nice in this world! Even at $400 MSRP, they are still worth it.
