I put off setup for several days because I expected it to be complicated. It was a breeze. Nice when that happens because while I am professionally used to technical problems. I just hate it when I have them at home, you know? So I plugged in and used quick setup instructions using lowest connection (coaxial) and worked good, but one station was not coming in (50%) signal. Having no TV at all for several weeks I was happy for a while. But in a few days, upgraded to RCA connection and changed to AUX station on my TV and the picture was a little better. Then broke down and changed to expensive (powered) antenna and boy, I've got 100% signal and quality on even the bad station most of the time. It is a really good picture on a old TV. Even though I only have 5 stations, I can live with it for now and saving lots of $ not having cable anymore. When I went to record though, I lost the signal even though I left the device powered on. I found default setting to turn off after 2 hours (saving power), which I changed and was able to get my recorded shows. If I can just remember to leave it on the right station! I love the information that shows at the bottom of the screen when you change channels, but the time(s) display and what shows are on and coming on, seems to be off. That is probably a function of local broadcast and DST discrepancies. I definitely recommend this little converter box. Only complaint I have (suggestion) is that the power cord(s) could be just a bit longer for those of us with limited outlets.
